James Blake - The Colour in Anything
World Tour
Commissioner: James Blake | 2016 | Real-time audio-visual system
During her time at United Visual Artists (UVA), Daria Jelonek contributed to the concept and development of the stage design for James Blake’s The Colour in Anything North American and European tours.
The project explored the use of virtual light as an architectural medium, transforming the stage into a performative, responsive environment. Through real-time programmed visuals and choreographed lighting systems, the work created a hybrid space in which sound, image, and spatial perception became deeply interconnected.
Working closely with the artistic and technical team, she contributed to the development of generative visual content and real-time systems that responded to audio, enabling the musicians to actively perform the visuals alongside the music. The project investigated the relationship between physical and virtual space, creating an immersive sensory experience that extended the live performance into a dynamic, audiovisual environment.
This visual language went on to shape subsequent festival performances, establishing a cohesive and evolving stage identity.
